Primoz Lavrencic has the hallmark of the restless maverick, one who is constantly searching for answers to questions in a personal search for the key to unlocking the potential for originality in wine from this location. Burja Estate was born in 2009 when some old vineyards were given to Primoz as a family inheritance and he’s making very good progress. His wines are playful, as befits the darting mind of the vigneron and the stony soils and the climatic and microclimatic niceties, they are sharp at their core with dancing freshness.

The nose has a clear and fine herbal aroma whilst the palate is extremely full and complex with pepper and spice notes. An extremely versatile wine.

Pairs well with duck, lamb or red meat

Serving tip — Pinot Noir has an ideal serving temperature range of 55–65°F. You can serve lighter wines closer to 55°F, and fuller-bodied Pinots closer to 65°F.
