Originally from Paris, Julie spent years making wine for others in the southwest of France before deciding to branch out on her own and when the time came in 2009, she wound up in Beaujolais – a winemaker with a rare touch, producing Gamay with a level of detail and finesse others can only dream of. This wine is named after her neighbour who helps out in the vineyard.
Boom! Crazy Aromas! So much power yet so pretty. Forest berries, mixed with cocoa and hints of cigar, after a while some liquorice root too. Texture is dreamy as with waves of creamy silkiness drifting across the tongue. This is an amazing grand-cru Beaujolais that is quite concentrated and robust. Serving tip – haunting red that could use some time in a decanter to truly shine.
