The young, big-haired Yann Bertrand works with his parents Guy and Annick in Fleurie. He grew up here but never intended to follow wine, leaving home to travel round the alps, where he ended up working in wine bars. It was here he discovered that there’s another side to Beaujolais: the wine geek angle.
Yann returned to Beaujolais and began working with his parents in 2012. They were farming organically but Yann took it a step further and began farming 1 hectare using biodynamic principles. He now makes the wines of the domaine, working sensitively and naturally.
This is a Fleurie of good quality with a powerful nose of intense red summer fruit and fresh spices. The palate is suave and greedy with nice tannins. A persistent and spicy finish.
Pairs well with game meats and charcuterie.
